TET Entry in France
Around lunchtime, I finally arrived at my first checkpoint: the entry to the French TET Section 1! It was time to test my confidence in the bike.
Lets find some gravel roads!
The day started warm and nearly cloud-free! I always like to think it’s because of me and my journey—the weather gods taking it easy on me so I can enjoy 😄. Not much happened after I left Montreux, as I was focused on getting to the TET entry as quickly as possible while still taking time to soak in the experience. When I finally reached the TET entry point around lunchtime, the streets were quiet, but luckily, I found a restaurant just around the corner. I stopped to escape the heat, cool down a bit, and enjoy a chicken salad with the famous Orangina. Even now, almost three years later, I still remember that moment as if it were just a few weeks ago. It stuck with me—the anticipation of finally testing the Husky with my new tires on gravel and forest roads, fully loaded with luggage.
I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous. It was my first time riding the Husky in these conditions and also my first solo adventure like this. But that nervousness quickly boiled over into pure excitement!
There’s not much more to recount from that day. I started streaming with the GoPro for the first time, and it worked surprisingly well. Below are the videos I captured while riding through some beautiful forests and honing my navigation skills 😄.
Oh, and one thing I almost forgot to mention—I got so caught up in riding the TET that I nearly forgot to look for a campsite to stay the night. I ended up driving to three different campsites before finally finding one with an available spot. Apparently, French people love camping just as much as I do—I had no idea!
