Goodbye Iceland

The time went by so fast... there was so much more I wanted to see and do on Iceland. I will be back to explore this beautiful island and find more challenging dirt roads and unique campspots.

As always, we had beautiful sunny weather when we drove to the harbor and got in line to board the ferry back to Hirtshals. It was amazing to ride on Iceland for the first time with my own bike! We saw a volcano spitting magma, then we went to camp near the glacier (one of the largest in Europe, if I remember correctly). We bathed in hot springs and rode through moonlike landscapes. This island left a mark on my heart, and I will have to come back. There is just something about Iceland that resonated with my being on so many levels; it's hard to explain.
