Exploring Akureyri Region

Exploring the area around Akureyri without our luggage, we were finally free of the extra weight and eager to find some gravel roads!

We enjoyed a long sleep thanks to the thick curtains, as the sun doesn't really set during June, making it challenging to fall asleep. Breakfast was a must, and we found ourselves spending a lot of time eating throughout the trip, probably because of the cold – it made us hungrier! Anyway, we were eager to explore and get accustomed to the gravel roads, but we experienced a slight delay due to the strong winds!

We were completely caught up in the ride and didn't think to take any photos. Luckily, Mike had his GoPro mounted on the motorbike and captured a ton of videos. However, looking at them now, they're not all that exciting, except for the breathtaking landscapes, of course! 😄

To add a little twist to our adventure, I didn't even realize that on that day, the GoPro was set to take photos instead of recording videos! Enjoy.
